About the Producer
Geisha 1,500 collection coffees come from a blend of our Geisha producing farms (Cañas Verdes, Jaramillo, El Velo).
To sustain the people, the land and the environment is not an optional matter for us. These things have, do and will depend on the sustainability of our farming practices. In Hacienda La Esmeralda, after not only three generations of owners, but also of employees, we all work for sustainability.
After the events of 2004 and Geisha’s official coming out at the Best of Panama Auction, much of the Peterson’s focus settled on developing an infrastructure to support superior lot separation, meticulous processing, and a healthy auction format. As auction prices grew and grew, so did the demand for experiments like Natural Processing, and for ever more specificity in lots.
The aromatic qualities that make Geisha coffee unique don’t start to express themselves until the plants start being grown at 1,400 meters above sea level or more. Every lot is subject to the same strict ordering as our other coffees to ensure the highest quality. These lots are available only washed processed, and are dried on the patios and in the Guardiola dryer. (From the producers website)
