Green -or- Roasted
For this Honduras, we’re making a limited amount of roasted coffee available in 12 ounce bags – roasted on the MCR-6 in our roastery and with profile development by our own Derek Delapaz.
There’s a interesting duality in this green – it’s a bright, washed coffee but it can also showcase development (which is rare). In the initial cupping of sample roasts, it was nuanced and complex. In the second round of profiling, it resolved nicely into a very approachable cup that would be really accessible to even the least discerning coffee drinker.
Derek roasted this Hondurus as the calibration coffee for the USBC this Spring and we received multiple notes back that the extraction was quite easy which adds to its appeal as a coffee to add to your lineup.
About the Producer
Irma Argueta owns a 3-hectare farm that’s planted entirely with Catuai variety coffee, about 12,000 plants in total. The coffee on La Frontera is picked ripe and depulped the same day, then fermented for 16 hours before being washed three times. It’s dried on raised beds for 12–15 days.
