Coffee Varieties and Their Lineage

Posted by on

Today, we cupped a Papua New Guinea which will go on sale 12/22/15. It has a “San Ramon” variety, one which I have never heard before. Counter Culture to the rescue.

Great graphic from Counter Culture which traces back all coffees and their lineage. Turns out, San Ramon is an off-shoot of the Typica variety.

Every day in coffee turns into a new learning experience. That’s the stuff that holds me.
