Mill City Roasters is returning to Coffee Fest New York this March 23-25 for our third year as the official Roasting Education Sponsor of Coffee Fest.
At the show in New York, we're presenting a brand new lineup of paid workshops and free seminars, rare and unique coffees to sample during instructor-led tastings, live roasting demonstrations taking place on the show floor, and more. We're bringing the Big Red Roast Rig onto the show floor at the Javits Center in Manhattan, where you can step onto the truck and chat with our team.
We've been excited to watch Coffee Fest shows grow in attendance every year that we've been involved. These shows are perfect for new business owners looking to meet vendors and learn more about starting their coffee company. For established business owners and roasters, the shows are a great way to advance your industry knowledge and learn how to sustainably scale your business.
Coffee Fest is a traveling show that takes place in four cities across the US. In 2025, New York will be the first location. In June, Coffee Fest will be hosted in Portland, Oregon, followed by a show in Los Angeles in August. The final location will be Orlando, Florida at the end of October. The locations of these four events in targeted regions make it easier for people to attend, with many people within driving distance of an event.
Coffee Fest markets itself as a business resource for the specialty coffee community. With an average attendance of over 2,000 people per location, it’s a place where business owners can see new equipment, meet with allied product partners and equipment vendors, and attend educational sessions on topics ranging from retail cafe business to online marketing. The dates for the New York Coffee Fest are March 23-25.
Our new class line-up for Coffee Fest features paid workshops on Designing a Production Roast Profile, where we'll explain the steps of sourcing and profiling new coffees and how to work with greens as they age in your inventory. The second paid workshop is Roasting Rare, Unusual, and Challenging Coffees. In that class, we'll break down tips for approaching unique coffees and lead a tasting of coffees like a wildly fruity mango co-ferment, a sugarcane method Decaf, and a Gesha varietal from Bolivia.
General attendance ticket holders can also attend free seminars during regular show hours. These seminars will cover green coffee inventory management, wholesale business growth, building a quality control program, and help you choose the best roasting system for your company. Classes are taught by Mill City instructors Bryant Banker-Scannell and Lauren Lathrop along with Mill City President Steve Green.
We're bringing an MCR-2E onto the show floor to host twice daily live roasting demonstrations with Q&A sessions. For more information, follow us on IG @millcityroasters or go to Coffee Fest’s website to register for the show.
We can't wait to see you this year at Coffee Fest!
