The rapidly growing Carlson Roasting Co., Houston County, Minnesota, are moving into a larger downtown location. Owners Bob and Mimi Carlson are transforming their former cafe location into a tasting room, where beans may also be purchased. Carlson beans can be found wholesale at six area grocery stores and two eateries. An at home roaster for eight years, Carlson has upgraded to a 1 kilogram North machine from Mill City to pursue the business. The new tasting room is open to the public on Saturdays. As of October 2016, all Carlson coffees are fair trade and organic. Article is written by Stephen Cahalan, a contributor for Houston County News.
