Sensory Analysis for Roasters
Starting with the basics of sensory analysis, this course guides students through the difficult to master subjects such as green coffee cupping, sample roasting, roast profile analysis and quality control. Foundational Skills for Roasters
A focused, two-day session that includes classroom education and hands-on experience. As our most popular class attended by hundreds from all over the world, this class is perfect for people who consider themselves beginner or intermediate level roasters, especially those who intend to start their own coffee roasting business.
Extraction for Coffee Roasters
In this class, you will gain the ability to clearly develop and communicate ideal brewing parameters to anyone who uses your coffee, ensuring you have more control over their experience. Become a brewing expert so you can provide of a top-notch product from drum to cup.
Next Level Technical Skills for Professionals
Building on skills you’ve learned in the classroom and honed in your roastery or cafe, join Mill City for our next level of technical skills training in Minneapolis, MN.
Espresso Bar Skills for Coffee Professionals
We will be alternating from coffee and espresso theory to instructor demonstration, to practical application and practice. Our class size is limited to 6 students to make room for plenty of personalized learning. Lunch is provided on both days, and you know we will always provide fresh coffee.
Technical Coffee Roasting for Professionals
This course is designed to challenge the ruts that professional roasters get stuck in and gain a fresh and vibrant perspective on the job of roasting coffee. Running a machine is old hat, guiding a coffee along a profile is easy, and ensuring safe operations has become a regular part of the job. It’s time to knock off the dust and come at roasting with a new perspective and maybe have some fun with it again.
SCA Intermediate Roasting
Improving on skills you’ve learned in and out of the classroom, this course focuses on the specific lessons tested against for the SCA Roasting exam. This two day course is led by Joe Marrocco and takes place at the Mill City Minneapolis Campus.
