Minneroasta 2017 - 1st Annual Coffee Roasting Event

Posted by on

For those of you who haven’t heard, over the last couple of years Minneapolis, Minnesota has a developed extraordinarily vibrant coffee community.

Here’s a very abbreviated list of local companies you probably know or probably should know:

You get the idea. We’ve got some of the best people in the industry living and working here and, as I’m tapping this out at 5:00 am this morning, if I’ve forgotten you send me a link and I’ll add you to the list.

We’re also home to and proud to support the regional SCA entity: the Northern Coffee Alliance and ground zero for the North American HQ of Women in Coffee.

So we’ve got the people and with the opening of our Mill CIty Campus this year, we’ve got the place. We only wish you were here. That’s where, special thanks to the highly esteemed Scott Rao for coining the name, the first annual Minneroasta event was born.

It’s an education, it’s a party, it’s a discussion, and it’s even a playful competition. Headlined this year by our visiting special guest instructor Rob Hoos, we’re pulling together as a community to show you our chops and give you a couple days to kibbitz with access to the machines, techniques, and people that you are most interested in and probably most need to know to move the needle on your own coffee quality and profitability.

I know this is short notice for a lot of you, but space is limited on this end too and we’ve got a limited number of people we can accommodate. For those of you who can’t make it, we’ll be live streaming the Focus on the Roast and Cuppers Challenge events too.

Special thanks to our sponsors Cafe Imports and Buhler for their support and special thanks to you for considering the trek.
